Discover our Vasastan.

Vasastan is one of Stockholm’s most vibrant neighborhoods, full of classic gems – shops and restaurants as well as newly opened, trendy spots. We love it, and below we list some of the reasons you will as well.

The great thing with Vasastan is that you never really have to leave the area. It’s all here: the restaurants and cafes – both classic and trendy, as well as shopping, culture, museums, and galleries. If you’re still feeling adventurous and would like to venture out of the “hood”, you’ll find Stockholm’s city center within walking distance in one direction, and the scenic Hagaparken, with acres of hiking and jogging trails, in the other. But as we said: why cross the creek to get water?

Hagaparken

In this park there are many different pavilions and temples, including Haga Castle. Acres of hiking and jogging trails around the beautiful Brunnsviken. The park’s total area covers 144 hectares and is part of the royal national city park. Crown princess Victoria and her family have been living in the park for a long time.

Bio Capitol

Capitol is an arthouse cinema focusing on new films from all over the world, with two screening rooms with 103 and 82 seats respectively. Capitol seeks to offer an ambitious repertoire – and programs with special themes, talks, and noteworthy guests. A cinema with everything, even a restaurant.

Tennstopet

Tennstopet is a classic restaurant in Vasastan. Ever since occupying its former address in Klarakvarteren, it’s been a meeting point for journalists, writers and other cultural figures. Here you can taste real Swedish food, enjoy a beer and a “stänkare” at the gorgeous tin bar.

Sven-Harrys Konstmuseum

In Vasaparken you’ll discover a real architectural gem: Guldhuset. The building houses an art gallery and restaurant – where various exhibitions, mostly by Swedish artists, are on display. On the top floor you’ll find a reconstruction of the home of the founder, the developer Sven- Harry Karlsson.

Flippin Burgers

To get inspiration for the perfect hamburger, the owner of Flippin Burgers travelled around the US and ate hamburgers. You can see the results not only on the plates but from outside as well: every day of the week a line forms at opening time. Delicious burgers and Ben & Jerry’s milkshakes make it all worthwhile.

Domino Antik

Domino Antik specializes in Art Deco. Here you’ll find lot of lighs from the 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s. And Luxus lights. Domino Antik is located just a few minutes from the Odenplan subway or Rådmansgatan. For those of you who prefer the good old days. At least design-wise.

Café Pascal

Cafe Pascal is located on a quiet street corner, just a block from lively Odenplan. The award- winning cafe in Vasastan won over not only by critics but locals as well. With great pastries and hearty sandwiches, maybe they’ll win you over too?

Rolfs Kök

Rolfs Kök is a modern Swedish bistro classic. The founder wanted an open kitchen to have greater contact with the guests. He was a pioneer in bringing in famous Swedish architects to create the right ambience. Design by Jonas Bolin and Thomas Sandell.

Carl Eldhs Ateljémuseum

Visit Carl Eldhs unique studio from 1919, beautifully situated in Bellevueparken, next to Brunnsviken. Sculptor Carl Eldh was one of Sweden’s most in- demand artists during the first half of the 20th century. Enjoy hundreds of works by one of Sweden’s most famous sculptors.
